Extremes are able to coexist. If there is one medium which proves beyond all doubt that this is possible, it would be music. Dutch metal band Traversus understands this, and made it their mission to bridge divides both musically and lyrically. Their hard rock sound is enhanced with influences from progressive rock and metal, and as such, manages to seamlessly blend the theoretical with the emotional.
Being from a relatively small town in the east of the Netherlands, with a very limited rock scene to speak of, allowed Traversus to hone their sound over multiple years. The dense riff work by guitarist Joey Wessels and intricate rhythms by drummer Liam de Groot are more than happy to take a back seat to create space for the sonorous voice of Madelief de Groot whenever the music requires it. This surprisingly accessible combination of styles allows the band to build a close connection with both mainstream rock and adventurous metal audiences.
When The World Goes To Waste is a song dedicated to the super rich, the people who think the laws of nature don’t apply to them. They think their actions don’t have consequences, that they’re able to endlessly exploit our planet. But in the end, mother nature will come for us all. Even them.
Currently, Traversus is working on promoting their existing material, as well as writing new music that explores the possibilities of making even more intricate sections go together with even catchier choruses. With a sound that is as ready for intimate rock clubs as it is for the bigger festival stages, Traversus cordially invites you join them on their musical journey.
Eye To Eye is the second single of our upcoming EP called Navigate.
It's a song about being held hostage by your past and not
knowing whether you'll ever be able to live your life fully. It
follows the process of denial and hatred on the path to
acceptance and healing.
