The French band that has it all figured out when it comes to putting some Blues into Rock and vice versa.
Co produced by the French N°1 of the Blues Fred CHAPELLIER, the group acclaimed by the specialized chronicles has just released its second album "This is us".
14 tracks all composed by Lionel WERNERT on guitar, and written by Gipsy BACUET on vocals, once gain demonstrate the strength and feeling of this group with catchy and sharp riffs, in the service of a voice that is sometimes soft and powerful, feline, jazzy or rocky.
In Lionel’s perfectly mastered guitar playing we find the influences of Albert King, Peter Green or Joe Bonamassa among others. A vintage and modern sound for both melodic solos and a few rock accents like Ritchie Blackmore from the glorious years of Deep Purple and Rainbow...And in the voice of Gipsy, we find the influences and
intonations of Sarah Vaughan and even Bonnie Raitt or
Pat Benatar when necessary.
Accompanied and supported by a Gang with a soft and
sticky or rock and percussive groove, we can also hear jazz and soul influences, "This is us", is a perfect mix between vintage and modernity to serve personal texts in which everyone can find their own story.
Lee O’Nell Blues Gang, which resolutely excels on stage offers us an album of a great quality, surprising universe at the same time distinct and coherent going from the swing of the 50’s till the rock of 70’s with a disconcerting ease and inventiveness.
