IVAR
musician and songwriter
Ivar is an musician and songwriter. He has been in several bands and works independently today
Ivar was born in Iceland on a small volcanic island, the same year the Beatles released their first album. When he was ten years old he had to escape the volcanic eruption and moved with his family.
When he was ten years old he learned his first guitar chords and that was the beginning of his musical career. Ivar and his friends founded their first band when he was about thirteen years old. They named the band “Make it” and often played at school dances. In his parents' house there was a basement that the band had access to rehearse. Many musicians rehearsed with us in the basement the best known of them all is the Icelandic musician Bjork.
When Ivar was a teenager he studied both classical guitar and electric guitar. Later he took some private lessons in classical piano playing. For a while he taught the keyboard and guitar. Ivar graduated from university with a B.Ed. degree as a schoolteacher and has taught music education at public primary schools for several years.
Music is his life and passion and he hase been in several bands, but works independently today. Ivar is a songwriter, singer and plays guitar and keyboard. Musical genres he play could probably be
classified as indie pop music. He listens and has
the pleasure of all kinds of music. As an
example of music that Ivar likes, he
could name a few bands and musicians
such as Bach, Paca de Lucia, Santana,
U2, Bryan Ferry, Coldpaly and Adele.
The most fun thing he do is to
produce music and play for
people who likes his music.
