Black Light White Light resonates infectious shoegaze set in swirling psychedelia packed in a Spectorish sound with a modern Scandinavian twist. Formed in Copenhagen, Denmark 2009 by singer/guitarist Martin Ejlertsen (ILERTSEN)the project grew out of a love for American psychedelic rock, the 60's Swinging London as well as 1990's shoegazers sound from Creation Records and 4AD.

After a four-year album break, the Swedish-Danish cosmic pop band Black Light White Light returns with The Admirer, The new album presents the band's most personal, versatile and certainly most adventurous release to date. A mix of psychedelic rock, cosmic pop, and piano-driven ballads to surf-boogie rock packed

with spacious soundscapes echoing a pervasive

melancholy and a Scandinavian noir vibe.

Wandering melodies, layers of keyboards,

sizzling delay guitars, and manipulated

effects blends into an intoxicating mix

on 10 personal songs about e.g

epilepsy, David Bowie, family, love,

pain and confusion. The indie-rockers

have previously received notable

airplay from BBC Radio 6 w/ Lauren

Laverne and Denmark Public Radio’s

DR.DK among other tastemakers.

Building on a retro 60’s vibe with strumming

acoustic guitars, grand piano, groovy bass lines,

spacey synths and layers of choir backing

vocals The Admirer certainly shows

that the cosmic pop and

neo-psychedelia, that the band

has embraced, has developed

further into modern chamber

pop with ambiance of

atmospheric indie rock.

The highlighted track,

‘Epilepsy’ has already

received the title of

Nordic Music Review’s

‘Single of the Week’.
