Jonathan Hussey is a drummer, producer, and songwriter based out of Charlotte, NC. He graduated from the Atlanta Institute of Music for Live & Studio Drumming in 2011 and has since recorded on various albums and traveled with bands worldwide.
For years, Benton has been an integral part of a wide list of other bands, a seasoned wanderer through the realms of sound, and now, he stands at the forefront, sculpting his unique sonic universe. Drawing inspiration from the boundless possibilities of electronic music, he molds beats, synthesizers, and melodies into a hypnotic fusion that transcends conventional boundaries. His compositions are a testament to a lifelong love affair with sound, each track a journey into uncharted sonic territories.
Formed in 2019, Benton is a CLT based new wave-synth-pop project headed by Jonathan Hussey, who is stepping out from his usual spot behind the drum kit (for local bands like Fortune Teller and Siege Hardee) and crafting vibey dancey songs that anyone into Talking Heads, New Order, and War On Drugs would be stoked on.
