Universound is a project of 5 young musicians born in 2016 in Ancona a city on Italy’s Adriatic coast and the capital of the Marche region
The constant research and creation of their own sound material unites them, embracing and slipping between styles and contaminations that have made their sound uniform, compact and characteristic.
Devotion to the groove, improvisational ability, interplay and theatricality are the cornerstones of theirs live performance. Finding yourself at a Universound concert means coming across a live show full of nuances but with a mainly funk approach where there is no lack of hints of electronic experimentation, giving life to a sound they called "Deep Funk". An explosive, engaging, exciting and innovative sonic journey.
In 2017 they win the contest stop "Il Mangiadischi" allowing them to open the concert of Roman rapper 'Rancore'. In 2018 they record and release "Elefunk", their debut album with a decidedly character Funk containing 8 unreleased tracks at the "Nufabric Basement Recording Studio" in Fermo,under the guidance of the sound engineer Stefano Luciani.
In 2019 they finish second in the Molise contest "Bonefro Rock" and are noticed from the Campania label "Overdub Recordings" with which they sign for the realization of their second album, recorded by Filippo Phil Liar Buono at the "Monolith Recording Studio" of Vitulano (BN) which was published by 2021.
