Belle Morte is a musical project from Belarus, currently based in Poland, playing dark symphonic metal with a gothic/progressive flavor and melancholic vibe. Debut band’s EP “Game On” was released in 2018.
In 2021 the band signed a deal with Italian label Wormholedeath to release their full-length conceptual album “Crime of Passion” inspired by John Fowles’s “The Collector”. Album tells a coherent story which started as an unhealthy obsession and stalking and resulted in murder, both from the side of the murderer and his victim.
The second band’s album “Pearl Hunting” marks a bold new direction, incorporating a diverse range of ethnic instruments and musical traditions from across the globe. The album features collaborations with musicians from 12 different countries, integrating instruments like the Ukrainian bandura, Japanese shamisen, Celtic bouzouki, and Mongolian morin khuur, creating a rich fusion of symphonic metal and world music. While some tracks explore familiar combinations of symphonic metal and folk influences, like the Northern and Celtic sounds, others push the boundaries with more experimental and unconventional fusions, incorporating instruments such as the Armenian duduk and Indonesian suling and gamelan.
Gothic folk metal act BELLE MORTE is proud to announce the release of the official music video for their latest single, "Jorōgumo." A masterful blend of dark, heavy metal and traditional Japanese music, the track features an extraordinary collaboration with three highly acclaimed Japanese artists: Hisashi (koto, arrangement of Japanese instrument parts), Reigen Fujii (shamisen), and Souzan Kato (shakuhachi).
Inspired by Japanese folklore, Jorōgumo tells the tale of the spider demon who lures her prey with beauty and deception. Featuring traditional instruments such as koto, shamisen, and shakuhachi, arranged and directed by Hisashi, the track fuses gothic and industrial metal with haunting Japanese textures.
