Introduction to the Immune System System Immune System

The immune system is a host defense system comprising many biological structures and processes within an organism that protects against diseases. Its main function is to maintain the human body integrity when protecting it from potential threats such as viruses, bacteria and parasites that may enter our body. There are some organs and tissues important to the functioning of the Immune System, such as the bone marrow and thymus, lymph nodes and vessels, spleen, and skin.
