Cpl Khim Gurung , G35 Mil Clk

Ex REFINER 24 , an ARRC ( G35 ) professional development Staff Ride was held for the duration 22 – 26 Apr 24 , comprising of structured meetings , exchange of ideas , work-experience , and in-depth discussion about G35 / FuOps in NATO RAPID DEPLOYABLE CORPS ( NRDC – ITA ) and Multi – National South Division ( MNS-D ) in Italy . Alongside , the visit was fulfilled with great Italian cuisine – series of undeniable courses , and trips to the cities in Northern Italy , Milan , Florence , and Pisa .

Our visit with J35 team in NRDC – ITA was an eventful day with lots of important and pertinent matters exchange as well as a comparison on how each team ( being a 35 Branch ) operated in their respective areas of operation . With NRDC – ITA due to take on a new role as Allied Reaction Force ( ARF HQ ) from Jul 24 , it had already experienced an increase in the tempo of HQ ; contributed by a series of exercises and staff training in the built up to Ex STEDFAST DETTERENCE24 . The initiation of Project REBOOT with its intent to train the entire HQ on a proper utilization of Battle Management System ( BMS ) SitaWare HQ ( SWHQ ) was highlighted during the exchange and received positive feedbacks .

The next day started with another episode of travel to MND-S in Florence where two Branches ( G35 ) from different organisations discussed on the ways of collaborative working to deliver the output and meet the COM ’ s objectives ; a lot of great ideas and knowledge shared ! Soon after the visit

was completed , we got on the road to head towards our hotel and prepare ourselves for a lovely dinner . However , much to our luck , there was a wait of two hours to get a table . To make the most of our waiting time , we decided to go for a stroll around the town and ended up at the top of the hill , from where we witnessed a picturesque view – the town looked magnificent !

Lastly , a week Branch visit spiralled quickly to our final day in Pisa which included a Paratrooper Museum visit , fresh fishes / Sea food ( Cooked to Order ) for lunch and a short trip to Leaning tower of Pisa . Like the other restaurants , the Fish / Seafood restaurant didn ’ t fail to serve us a wonderful variety of fishes and sea food ; not forgetting the size and portion , everyone was well fed ! To sum up , the whole team couldn ’ t be much happier to experience the trip with great fulfilling restaurants , lovely sightseeing across the cities , historical monuments , and cathedrals and shared ideas with the 35 branches in similar organisation type .
