ARRC hosts first operational shooting competition of newly assigned units

( OSC ) at the Training Areas of Ash , Pirbright and Barossa from 23rd to 27th May 2022 . The live-fire shooting event assessed individual and team performance on operational shooting , for a chance to compete at the British Army OSC later in the year .
British Army units reorganised under NATO ’ s Allied Rapid Reaction Corps competed during the first ARRC Operational Shooting Competition
Teams had to shoot , move and communicate – all essential disciplines all soldiers must hone as professionals in their craft . The teams armed with their SA80 A2 service rifles manoeuvred through scenarios , which included short-range rural contact , attack and re-organise , defence , urban contact , advance to contact , fire team close combat , combat snap , section attack assessment , and finally the Fire Team Falling Plate event .

Congratulations to Ghurkha ARRC Support Battalion , 22 Signal Regiment and 10 Signal Regiment , the top three teams respectively , who have all progressed to the next Army level competition .
