COMARRC’s Introduction
Welcome to the summer edition of the Imjin magazine. The
Headquarters has had a highly productive few months as
we’ve continued our journey of recalibration, conducted and
supported various exercises across Europe and enjoyed some
exceptionally-organised National Days. Thank you to you all for
making these such a success.
The summer period is always one of great change, with over a
quarter of posts turning over. To those moving on I would like to say
thank you, and to your families, for your tremendous service and
commitment – it’s been a very busy couple of years but I feel sure
you will all take away some happy memories from your time serving
in Gloucestershire. To those joining I extend a warm welcome and
encourage you to make the most of this beautiful country and our
wonderfully supportive local community.
Final thanks must go to the production team for their hard work in
producing such a useful magazine once again. This is Maj Ben Ford’s final edition and so I would like to single
him out for his commitment. I hope you enjoy this edition of the Imjin and have a great summer.

theIMJIN SUMMER 2018
Words from
the Editor
Summer is here and the holidays will provide the
perfect opportunity to explore all that the local
area has to offer. The team and contributors of
this edition of the Imjin magazine have provided
reviews and information on a wide range of events
and activities to help plan for an exciting summer
period.
Thanks to the submissions from our contributors, this
edition of your community magazine provides you with
a wealth of information on local activities, sports clubs,
local attractions, up-coming local and community events
and welfare information to help you find the right person
to speak to, should you need to. The ‘What’s On’ section
on pages 18-19 will provide you with local events taking
place all the way up to December.
This is my last edition of the magazine and I hope you
enjoy the content. I’d like to personally thank everybody
that has contributed to the seven editions I have
worked on for providing such a wealth of information
for the benefit of our community. It is testament to the
pride everyone shares for the Imjin community and the
ongoing work being done by groups and individuals to
provide support, fun and entertainment to everyone
associated with Imjin Barracks.
Enjoy the magazine,
Maj Ben Ford
