There is validaty in the statement that the further you drive north along northern roads, the colder it gets((especially here in Canada). When people would mention northern roads to me, I would shiver at just the thought of travelling north into colder climates.

Not anymore. Now when people mention northern roads, I immediately think of a hot new band called, you guessed it, Northern Roads. Formed in 2013, Northern Roads is an alternative folk band from Scarborough, Ontario here in Canada. The band consists of 4 very talented young lads and long time friends

Connor Allen (Lead Vocal),

Mitch McCartney (Guitar, Vocals),

Rob Almeida (Guitar, Vocals),

Matt McCartney (Percussion, Guitar, Vocals).

Some of their successes and highlights include:

Selected to perform at Boots and Hearts 2014

Showcased with Canada's most respected vocal coach Elaine Overholt at the CMAO Road to Independence Conference

-Offer to perform at Adrian College in U.S.A. with Easton Corbin in 2015

-Selected to play at Canada's largest new music festival, Canadian Music Week 2015 and 2016.

Their music has a fun, upbeat tempo, entranched with catchy lyrics. Top it off with powerful harmonies and lead vocals and you have a band that is headed for success in all directions, not just north.

They remind me a lot of another fun Canadian band from eons ago, The Irish Rovers.
