Chrystian in high school and they were all in a band together before Wetwood. After the drummer of the former band left they found John via craigslist to play for them.

How long did it take you as a band to find a sound that you liked and how did you come up with what sort of genre of music you wanted to play?

We base a lot of what we write on what we listen to. We have noticed that whatever albums or artists we are listening to when we write an album usually comes through in the music.

As far as our own sound we are still finding it. We have tried a couple of different things and are refining it from there.

What sort of music did you all grow up with and who do you feel has influenced you in the music you are playing today?

Josh and Steven were all classic rock (Boston, led Zeppelin, the Beatles, etc.) Chrystian definitely brigs influence from like earth wind and fire and bands of that nature.

John came from a metal background and grew up with his dad playing in a metal band. Kind of all over the place but it works.

What is your previous experience in the music world before joining together?

We don’t really have previous experience before we all met. We’ve all grown up together in the music world. We have been through the shitty promoters that take advantage of you together, we have made the mistakes that every young band makes together and all learned from it.

What can people expect from your live shows?

We love playing live and we think it translates to the crowd that we love to be on stage. They can expect a lot of movement.

Do you have a regular venue that you play at?

We love the wayfarer in Costa Mesa. We play there a bunch and get along with the staff super well. We actually have a residency coming up there every Monday in July.

What is the Indie scene like in your local area?

The orange county music scene is in a pretty good place right now: We have tons of really talented independent artists at almost every stage of their career and some really awesome venues like the observatory and the wayfarer to support them.

The first EP you released was Earth Tones & Red in 2014, an album that I have listened to and liked. Then in 2015 you released Organ Donor. This year you have released your third, aptly named “Our Third” which in my opinion I found to be more rock driven. How do you feel your music progressed through the 3 EP’s?

It’s always been tough for us to put ourselves in a specific genre or sub-genre. Our goal is just to write music that we like and would ourselves listen to. It just so happens that the music we listen to changes over time. I would agree that our last EP was more rock driven but we have no problem taking the next one in a a new direction if that’s what we’re inspired to do. Each release is representative of who we are at the time.
