Why did you decide to take a leadership role within the chapter?

After a semester of being in PSE I knew that I had the outside leadership skills and the understanding of the organization to take a larger role within PSE. Running for VP of HR was my goal and I achieved that, and I knew that I could do great things within PSE.

Were your various leadership roles ever too much to handle? If so how did you deal with it?

Sometimes being President means taking constructive criticism and learning from that. I believe that in the beginning I was unable to truly accept the comments from others, being so new in the role, and I finally told myself I needed to take those comments and fix my mistakes if anything was going to work.

What has been your greatest PSE accomplishment?

Becoming the VP of HR, I didn’t think I was going to get the role and then once election results were announced I was wicked happy and thrilled about it.

How has PSE prepared you for your current or past internships?

PSE has helped me gain the necessary “selling skills” that I needed in life, which means selling myself as a potential employee of a company. Learning to interact with people is one of the best skills you can learn, because without that you might possible not be able to further yourself as a professional.

How have you personally and professionally changed since you were first initiated?

I believe that I am much more confident in my leadership role and accepting myself as a leader, before I didn’t have the confidence of a President but through the past semester I was able to understand what I truly needed to do and how to act. This confidence in leadership has also spilled over into my personal self-confidence.

If you could change anything about your PSE experience what would it be?

I wish that I didn’t take on the President role so early, I

wish that I didn’t take on the President role so early, I thought that I was ready right away but without the training I didn’t know exactly what I was getting into

Who is your PSE role model?

Racheal Pozerski – she was the epitome of a leader and she exemplified what a true PSE member should be like. Even after graduating she still stays involved within the organization.

Anything else you would like to add?

Just that I am excited to be a part of such an amazing organization.

Thank you for all your hard work and the chapter cannot wait to see what you do next.
