Akima hosts 12th annual silent auction
Akima ' s 12th annual Holiday Silent Auction , held in November 2023 , was an enormous success . This year , employees and their families came together and raised more than $ 77,000 in donations for KOTZ Radio . Over two weeks , Akima employees generously donated and bid on over 130 baskets and auction items . The enthusiasm and engagement displayed by Akima employees fueled the success of this fundraiser .
To conclude the silent auction , Akima organized a onehour live broadcast that brought together hundreds of employees in a celebration of giving back . The broadcast featured videos showcasing the incredible work done by KOTZ Radio . The livestream allowed employees to interact through the chat feed , creating a sense of unity and community despite being in different geographical locations .

NANA shareholders who are college students and are 18 or older are invited to apply for Akima ’ s annual summer internship program . Akima interns learn real world professional and technical skills , as well as hone their business etiquette and soft skills . Connections made through these internships boost each student as they begin their careers after college graduation . On the weekends and after hours , interns are given the chance to explore the cities where they work . Past interns have worked in Herndon , Virginia , Colorado Springs , Colorado and Anchorage , Alaska . More than 170 shareholders have gone through the Akima internship program , 20 % of whom decided to begin their careers at Akima .
