The author uses the Panther as a symbol of the theme also. The Panther represents the opposite of the hunger artist. The panther had toke the hunger artist place after he had `passed away, but the panther had more excitement and joy then the other hunger artist, in the text it says “Nor did he even seem to miss his freedom; this noble body, so well equipped with all it needed that it was ready to burst, even appeared to be carrying freedom
around with it.” This is telling me that he is happy in the cage and he has so much energy
and looks like his having fun and people might actually enjoy the Panther and might be
interested in hunger just like them, because it proves that he still looks happy and had
energy to move without having to eat. This tells me that the theme is everyone is different
and that if you enjoy what you do then show people and maybe they will be interested in it
as much as you are.
This summery tells you about how the cage and the Panther are a symbol for the theme
and how it teaches us a lesson. It teaches us that it is important to be yourself and show the
world and not to be scared of what you really enjoys and don’t worry about what others
think.
