sink, but you can even buy that here” kind of store for 36
years. It’s known in the Ottawa Street area for being able to
help anyone looking for just about anything. Their staff is
experienced in every aspect of the business from painting to
lighting.
“Customers don’t just come in to this store and we have to
send them to three different people,” said owner Wayne
Chapieski. “Everyone here knows everything.”
Nena Custodio and her sister opened up Hot Yoga less
than a year ago. The two say they could not ask for a better
neighbourhood.
“The other business owners have been amazing to us and
they have a really great attitude,” said Custodio. “They’ve been
super supportive and we try to go over to their businesses as
well. So we have been welcomed and we feel very, very lucky
that we’re on this particular street.”
Now, the neighbours and business community are
counting the days until the construction is over.
“When I opened this store, I deliberately came to Ottawa
Street because I love the ambiance,” said Terri Birkner, owner
of the Vintage Witch. “It’s terribly affected me … I will be
really, really glad when it’s done!”
The updates of Ottawa Street will only add to its longevity
and charm, and will keep customers and residents returning
for many years to come.

Juniper Books, a book-lover’s haven on Ottawa

changed - yet remained just as wecloming - over
the years.

It is believed that
