There are apps that display our sewer system, roads, sidewalks, addresses, buildings, parks, trails, bike lanes and routes, waterways, schools, government offices, parking lots, playgrounds, public washrooms in parks, and much, much more. They’ve also mapped things you can’t feel or see, like ward boundaries; street centreline with information about roads, speed limits, direction and more; districts of many types; property descriptions and info; services, size and distance for a number of features; as well as aerial photos over the years since 2000. If you want to figure out your morning commute and need to know about road closures and construction, there’s an app for that too. Transit Windsor changes Transit Windsor is ready to roll out some new signage and new technology that will improve service with real time information and improved accessibility across the system. In the coming weeks, transit riders will begin to see newly designed bus stop si gns across the city that contain a Stop ID number, a phone number and a number to text. When the system is fully implemented, this information will provide the rider with real time bus information for each stop. In addition to the smartphone compatibility, buses will also provide automated stop announcements and interactive voice response systems to improve service for the visually impaired and visitors to our community.
