Book Lovers Story by Shelley Divnich Haggert Photos by Angelica Haggert and Eva Antonel There’s something ironic about the time we’re living in. Here we are in the twenty-first century, surrounded by technological tools like Facetime and fibre optics. We’ve got cars that practically park themselves, scientists have mapped the human genome, and our astronauts can tweet from space. Yet many of the ideas being talked about and tried in our community, and around the world, are attractive and exciting because of their simplicity. We seek out farmers’ markets, talk about making neighbourhoods friendly to pedestrians and cyclists, and repurpose our heritage buildings.
