Electronic waste is a growing concern in Canada and around the
world. New estimates suggest more than 84 million television sets,
millions of old computers and 200 million cell phones are currently
taking up space in American homes and offices. An even bigger
concern are the figures provided by Environment Canada which
suggest more than 140,000 tonnes of e-waste are dumped annually
into Canadian landfills. That number is expected to increase in
upcoming years.
