The Henna Boutique brings the ancient culture of temporary botanical body art from the Middle East and South America to Windsor, with traditional and modern influences. The Henna Boutique provides quality, all natural henna and jagua products, glitter henna and custom jewelry. The buzz around the opening has been beyond anything we could have hoped for. People are getting henna for special events like weddings, graduation, prom -or for no reason at all. People are even booking henna parties. How is The Henna Boutique different from the competition? The Henna Boutique is the only studio of its kind in Windsor, fully dedicated to professional, natural, temporary, body art. First and foremost, our henna is an organic product that I sourced to make sure it was the highest quality (the henna itself comes from a plant grown in Himalayan Mountains). The studio also offers Jagua (also temporary but indigo in colour) and glitter henna which is definitely a fun choice. But, of course, the key to our success is the art. Each design is done freehand and are as special and unique as the person who has one. Why did you choose downtown Windsor as the location? I knew immediately that it had to be downtown where so much is now happening. I wanted to be part of the new creative community that is building in the core. Downtown has the right vibe and it’s what gave me the feeling it was the right time to start the boutique in the first place. From there, finding a spot above Rino’s Kitchen & Ale House moved it from idea to reality. The owner and staff were so welcoming and supportive that it immediately became a second home. I can’t imagine a better place to get started. Does the name have a story behind it? The name was such a hard decision. It took a whole train ride to Toronto and back doing nothing but sitting there agonizing and brainstorming for the perfect name. I thought of it last minute as I was pulling into the Windsor Station on the way home and I just knew it was right.
