Pedal Power
With more than a billion bicycles
worldwide, rising gas prices, and an
increasing focus on communities, using
a bicycle has expanded from a form of
recreational amusement to a more
common form of transportation.
Recently, in Windsor-Essex, we’ve
noticed a major push towards making
cycling accessible to everyone,
including youth with disabilities,
families, business people, and those
with visual impairments. It takes a lot
of local organizations to keep cycling
safe and available in YQG, including
Bike Friendly Windsor-Essex, The
Downtown Windsor Community
Collaborative, the Windsor Tandem
Cycling Club, and the local ICan Bike
organization.
