Pedal Power With more than a billion bicycles worldwide, rising gas prices, and an increasing focus on communities, using a bicycle has expanded from a form of recreational amusement to a more common form of transportation. Recently, in Windsor-Essex, we’ve noticed a major push towards making cycling accessible to everyone, including youth with disabilities, families, business people, and those with visual impairments. It takes a lot of local organizations to keep cycling safe and available in YQG, including Bike Friendly Windsor-Essex, The Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative, the Windsor Tandem Cycling Club, and the local ICan Bike organization.
