Coming off the coldest and wettest July
in…well, in my lifespan anyways, I’m sure the
gloomy weather is confusing you. It’s
certainly messing with my head! Instead of
sunny walks along the river, geocaching,
teaching the dogs new tricks or hitting the
region’s conservation areas, I’ve been stuck
inside. It’s easy to let the weather get you
down - instead, grab a fun umbrella, toss on
the flip-flops and head out on the town.
There’s still lots to do that will help you ignore
the dark clouds.
On the Town
The shoes might not be the most
attractive things, and my average score is
about 11, but bowling is a great way to beat
the rain. There are several 10-pin alleys in
Windsor-Essex and a five-pin alley on the
east side of Windsor. You can fill a few hours
with fun for about fifteen dollars.
Make sure you’ve got running shoes for
this one - check out one of Windsor’s two
ZapZones for some laser tag and arcade
games. The east side Family Fun Centre also
offers indoor mini “glo” golf - minigolf under
a black light! Laser tag is
