Q: Have you chosen a major?
A: I'm currently studying to major in
Astronomy. However, I'm starting to
realize how much I enjoy social
sciences, and may switch my major in
the next semester.
Q: What do you miss most about HS?
A: I miss band and having time to
hang out with my friends.
Q: What is your favorite part about
college so far?
A: The best thing about college so far
is taking classes that are specific to
your interests. I enjoy almost all of my
classes and all of my professors.
Q: Do you have any advice for seniors
stressing about college this year?
A: My advice to seniors stressing
about college is that hard work pays
off. It might be really hard to deal with
college applications and scholarships
right now, but you will be so relieved
once you've gotten through all the
work and get to enjoy the benefits.
Q: What do you miss most about HS?
A: Honestly, as weird as it is I really miss having a
set school schedule every day with bells and lunch
and knowing I can see certain people in the halls at
certain times. As much as people hate the whole
8am-3pm schedule it really gives you a set time for
school with a definite free afternoon to relax or do
homework. Also, another thing I truly miss about
high school is having homework. Yeah I know that's
super weird to miss but honestly, I have classes that
give you like 3 tests the entire semester and if you
bomb those three tests you pretty much fail the class
and there's no wager room to save your grade, or
there's no extra credit to boost your grade. You're
pretty much screwed.
Q:What is your favorite part about college so far?
A: My favorite part about college so far is meeting a
ton of new people. It's so weird being surrounded by
people from all over the place instead of being
surrounded by people just from Sahuarita. I love
when people tell me all about their hometowns and
why they chose to come to Tucson opposed to some
University in their home state.
Q: Have you chosen a major yet, and if so, why?
A: I've changed my major about three times already
although they all kind of relate. I entered college with
a focus on biology, and then I realized I want to
study ecosystems more than cells and such so I
shifted my focus to being Ecology and Evolutionary
Biology but then I had complications with classes I
needed to complete for the major so I'm looking into
majoring in Envir onmental Science because it has a
lot of similar classes I wanted to take and the
academic advisor was incredibly helpful and showed
me multiple paths to have a successful career with
the major. It's a work in progress but i'm super
excited.
