Congrats to Athreya Arvind (Fifth Grade), for placing first at the Junior Doubles championship in the 2nd Annual John T. Pigg Doubles Badminton Tournament. The tournament was organized by the Nashville Badminton Association, and took place Sept. 29 and 30 in Hermitage, TN.
Athreya plays with partner Sandeep Baskar at the Chesterfield Athletic Club. His coach is Hull Wu.

Alums Jason Zhou ('13) and Ryan Fogarty ('16) were featured in the magazine's "10 Rising Stars Under 18" list. Both attend John Burroughs School.

Ashley Carr, who was just named a
recipient of the 2018 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Awards! The program annually recognizes more than 100 educators in the St. Louis metropolitan area – from kindergarten teachers to college professors – who are examples of excellence in their field.
Ashley was nominated for consistently seeking opportunities to collaborate with colleagues, and for her calm and encouraging demeanor, which makes Ashley’s students comfortable and confident with the study of art.
