4-H To Hold Annual Meeting & Elections Concluding its sixtieth year of incorporation, the annual meeting and board election of the 4-H Club Association of LaGrange County will be conducted during the directors’ regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 10th, at 7:00 pm in the Shelter House on the LaGrange County 4-H Fairgrounds. 4-H parents, volunteers and other adults in the county inter- Topeka Trace Apartments Stop, Look, & Lease 1&2 Bedroom Apartments 260.593.2313 Mon. Wed. Thu. 1-5pm ested in 4-H work are eligible to vote. Ten director positions are to be elected this year. Balloting for representatives from Clay, Eden, Johnson, Milford, and Newbury townships as well as five At Large slots will be conducted. Terms for this year’s elected candidates will expire in 2016. Current 4-H by laws specify that the 29 member policy-making board be comprised of representatives of each of the county’s eleven townships plus eighteen At Large seats and active past presidents. Along with the Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service, 4-H Club Association Directors determine policies for the county wide 4-H program, oversee the development and usage of the fairgrounds, and conduct the annual LaGrange County 4-H Fair. To be included on the ballot, interested director candidates may contact Nominating Committee Chair Lydia Wolheter at 260-668-1541 or the Purdue Extension office at 499-6334 by Thursday, September 5. Nominations from the floor by those in attendance will also be taken for any of these positions. In addition to the elections, annual financial and 4-H program statistical information will be available. All interested parties are encouraged to attend this event to cast ballots for 4-H leadership and thereby impact improvements in youth programming, facilities, and the 4-H Fair.
