Ten director positions are to be
elected this year. Balloting for representatives from Clay, Eden, Johnson,
Milford, and Newbury townships
as well as five At Large slots will be
conducted. Terms for this year’s elected
candidates will expire in 2016.
Current 4-H by laws specify that
the 29 member policy-making board be
comprised of representatives of each
of the county’s eleven townships plus
eighteen At Large seats and active past
presidents. Along with the Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service,
4-H Club Association Directors determine policies for the county wide 4-H
program, oversee the development and
usage of the fairgrounds, and conduct
the annual LaGrange County 4-H Fair.
To be included on the ballot,
interested director candidates may
contact Nominating Committee Chair
Lydia Wolheter at 260-668-1541 or the
Purdue Extension office at 499-6334
by Thursday, September 5. Nominations from the floor by those in attendance will also be taken for any of
these positions.
In addition to the elections, annual
financial and 4-H program statistical
information will be available.
All interested parties are encouraged to attend this event to cast ballots
for 4-H leadership and thereby impact
improvements in youth programming,
facilities, and the 4-H Fair.
