Food Pantry Receives Grant
Earlier this year, the LaGrange
County Community Foundation
(LCCF) Board of Directors declared
the month of May as Topeka Ministerial Association Month and stipulated
that all donations to the LCCF Good
Samaritan Fund would be matched
dollar-for-dollar up to a maximum of
$2000 in support of the Ministerial
Association’s, Christ’s Community
Cupboard, food pantry effort. The
match opportunity was exceeded by
local donors and, in June, $4123 was
awarded by LCCF. The Topeka Ministerial Association has been a cooperative
effort of Topeka area churches since
1938 and has shared management of
its pantry since 2008. Member churches include Emma Mennonite, Topeka
Mennonite, Topeka United Methodist,
Topeka Baptist, New Life Fellowship,
Community Fellowship, Eden Worship,
Maple Grove and Faith Community
Chapel. The LaGrange County Community Foundation frequently works with
the local ministerial associations in
their efforts to improve the quality of
life in LaGrange County. The LCCF mission is to inspire and sustain generosity, leadership and service.
