Marion, Emma & Shore Youth Groups To Sponsor Youth Event Nationally known speaker and poet, Brenda Matthews affectionately known as “Mama” Brenda, is a poet pregnant with purpose. She will be providing a motivational message to go along with a youth worship service being co-sponsored by three LaGrange County Mennonite church youth groups. The event is Saturday evening, November 12, at 6:30 pm at Shore Mennonite Church. Brenda’s purpose is to plant seeds of change in the hearts of those who have fallen through the cracks. She has traveled throughout the United States and Africa to deliver her message of change to the ‘least of these.’ Brenda Matthews’ passion has been widely recognized. A two-time featured poet of HBO’s Def Poetry Jam Chicago, she has shared the stage with legendary performers The Last Poets, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Roberta Flack, and Willie Nelson. The event at Shore will be for any junior high and high school youth. The event is free, however a free will offering will be taken up during the event. Red Cross Receives New Van And Sign The American Red Cross of LaGrange county was recently given a van for use by the county staff and volunteers when providing services to the residents of the county. Also, Disaster Assistance Team members of the LaGrange County American Red Cross gathered to celebrate the installation of new road Photos Submitted signage for the Red Cross office located in the LaGrange County Community Foundation Building at 109 E. Central Avenue in LaGrange. The new office location was recently opened in order to facilitate the provision of services to LaGrange county residents and provide a base of operations for all American Red Cross programs.
