LoveWay Hosting Fundraisers Plans are well underway for the second annual Frightening 5K and Haunted Hilly Half Marathon on October 29 at 8:30 am. Several aspects about this event make it unique. For starters, the course itself is not flat and fast like the majority of the races in our area. Running through the Bristol Fruithills and then into Middlebury and back, make this one different. “Just finishing the course will entitle you to bragging rights!” said the race organizer. “This is such a gorgeous run on back country roads, with plenty of farms and horses to look at. Entry fees are $30 for the 5K and $45 for the Half Marathon course, which includes a long sleeve technical tshirt featuring the vampire, chip timing and treats. A Terrifying Trail walk has been added for $10 that will have treats along the way for other family members and spectators while they are waiting on their racing friends. The walk is not timed and shirts are sold separately. Prices reflect an early registration discount through September 30. Complete race details including a form, maps and a turn by turn course description can be found at www. StoneSoupPromotions.com. Also, the 17th annual Ride-a-Thon fundraiser is planned for October 15. The event is scheduled to take place at the facility located at 54151 CR 33 Middlebury, IN 46540. The day will be filled with activities for the whole family. The morning starts off at 7am with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with sausage and drink for $5. Breakfast will be open until 10:30 am and is being provided and served by the Elkhart County Exchange Club. Registration for the ride will take place between 8 am and 10 am. The minimum entry fee for riders is $35 and includes a goody bag, lunch after the ride, and a door prize ticket.
