Benefit 5k Run/Walk
Set For October 29
The Davis Mercantile is sponsoring
a 5K Run/Walk in honor of Jen Will to
raise additional funds for the Medication Assistance Program.
Jen Will is the Director of the
Parkview LaGrange Foundation and
she, along with Randy Packer, PLH
social service coordinator, oversee the
Medication Assistance Program. With
the recent opening of the Oncology
Clinic at Parkview LaGrange Hospital,
the Medication Assistance Program
has been able to assist a number of
cancer patients with the purchase of
anti-nausea medication and other
medications related to chemotherapy.
This is very meaningful and fulfilling
to Jen, since she herself is battling
cancer. She knows all too well, the
struggles associated with battling
cancer and is grateful that the Medication Assistance Program is available
to those who desperately need medication but would otherwise not be able to
afford it.
April 29, 2011 Jen was diagnosed with cancer, a word no one
wants to hear, let alone a young
mother of two small children. Matt
Will, Jen’s husband, and her two
children Elli, age 3 and Owen, Age
1 have stood alongside Jen as she
began chemo treatments in midMay. She is still continuing with
treatments at this time. Later this
year Jen faces a double mastectomy
and radiation. Jen has continued to
work at Parkview LaGrange Foundation throughout her treatments to
help promote healthcare programs
that support those in our community. Jen’s friends now would like
