Hometown Christmas by Jerry Hostetler It may seem early, but it is November and ‘tis the season to begin preparing for the holiday season by thinking of those on your Christmas gift giving list. This month we’ve compiled a list of interesting and unique gifts that can be found in your hometown stores. We’ve included suggestions of where to find everything for your holiday decorating as well. Topeka Pharmacy, in downtown Topeka, offers a variety of items to help you prepare for the holidays including: individual and boxed Hallmark Christmas greetings, as well as a photo kiosk where you can print your own cards, wrapping paper, bags, bows and tissue. They also offer ornaments, Jim Shore Santas and Snowmen and Yankee Candles, in winter and everyday scents. For a unique stocking stuffer, they also have children’s windup toys. At the Crossroads Café, inside Topeka Pharmacy, you may special order pies, cookies and cinnamon rolls for your holiday parties. In Shipshewana, at the Red Barn Shoppes on State Road 5, you’ll find Lotions & Potions. There you can custom create your own body products including, lotion, shower gel, shampoo or cologne.
