Coloring Contest Winner Justin Miller of 1000W, Topeka was our winner for the October Coloring Contest. Congratulations to him! Justin won an ice cream treat of his choice at Tiffany’s Restaurant in Topeka. Everyone else that sent in a page can stop by the store, claim their page, and get a free small ice cream cone through the end of Nov. Come. Check out the winner’s original as well as the other entrants. Runners-up were Lori age 6; Hannah Miller, 5; Julie Miller, 4; and Jolisa Schlabach, 3. Honorable mentions were Jacelyn Hawk, age 6; Kari Miller, 6; Diana Eicher, 6; Jay Schlabach, 6; Jalen Dale Lehman, 5; and Karen Ann Yoder, 4. As a final note, be SURE to put your age on the coloring page ... we again had a winning page miss out on winning because there was no age on the page! Also, just a reminder ... the contest is only for kids up to 6 years old. 7 year olds aren’t eligible to enter, but we would love to see their drawings in our drawing contest! Autumn Youth Event for all jr high & high school youth Motivational Message by “Mama” Brenda Matthews Saturday, November 12, 6:30 pm Shore Mennonite Church Shipshewana, Indiana Free will offering will be taken to cover costs Refreshments will be served Doors Open at 6 pm Nationally known speaker and poet, Brenda Matthews affectionately known as “Mama” Brenda will be providing a motivational message to go along with a youth worship service. The event is being co-sponsored by three LaGrange County church youth groups: Emma, Marion and Shore. Brenda’s purpose is to plant seeds of change in the hearts of those who have fallen through the cracks. Drawing Contest Last month we asked for illustrations of our theme “I’m Thankful For...” The illustration below by 10 year old Elaine Bontrager of 1000W, Shipshewana was selected as our winner for the school-age division. Congratulations! We didn’t have any submissions into our open division this month. It’s pretty easy to win with those kind of odds! Give it a try and get your artwork published! The theme for next month is “A Very Merry Christmas” so start getting creative. All entries are to be twodimensional and on 8½” x 11” paper.
