In Boston Marathon
curred. When asked whether he would
return to race at Boston in the future,
Lyle said, “I probably won’t return,
but it’s not because of the bombings.
It’s something that I’ve always wanted
to do and now that I’ve experienced
it, I’m not sure if I’ll do it again.” Lyle
continued, “It’s sad and disappointing
that this kind of thing [bombing] had
to happen.” He continued, “Most of the
runners and families that were affected
were the ones that were in the race for
the sole purpose of raising money for a
charity.”
Side note: Andy Williams, from
Middlebury and brother of Westview
teacher Don Williams, participated
in the Boston Marathon this year and
finished a very impressive sixty-eighth
overall with a time of 2:28:40.
After the race the runners lined up for a victory picture. Left to right: Merlin Miller, Lyle Bontrager and Atlee Lambright.
