Our first attempt at publishing an
April Fool’s edition of the Hometown
Treasure was well-received, for the
most part. There were a few people that
were left a little confused, but we’re
thinking that might have been because
they hadn’t seen the explanation of
our April Fool’s fun on page 3 of last
month’s issue. One thing that we will
try to do a better job of doing for next
year’s April Fool’s issue, is to explain
throughout the publication that it is
indeed an April Fool’s Day edition.
We had a tremendous response to
our April Fool’s edition contest! For
those of you that missed the previously
mentioned explanation of last month’s
issue, we asked our readers to find the
five April Fool’s Day photos and one
made-up story. We had a total of 48
correct entries. The selected winner is
Vernon and Katie Nisley from Ligonier.
The Nisleys will be receiving a $50 gift
certificate good towards any service
that we here at LaGwana Printing offer. Congratulations to them!
If you liked the April Fool’s Day
edition, be sure to let us know if you’d
like us to do it again next year. Call

Happy
Mother’s Day
by Jerry Hostetler
On Sunday, May 12 Mother’s Day
will be celebrated across our country
and Mom’s will be honored for all their
hard work and dedication to their
families. We asked students at Meadowview Elementary School to tell us
what they liked most about their Mom.
You’ll find, spread throughout this
issue, some of the many quotes that
we collected from the young children.
Also, be sure to check out the history
of Mother’s Day on page 47.
Happy Mother’s Day from The
Hometown Treasure!
