We are looking forward to a busy schedule during
the month of May.
On April 21, 2001 a pre-construction meeting was
held at the town hall with API Construction, LaOtto the
contractor scheduled for the job. A meeting followed
at Tiffany’s with the industrial and business affected
during this time of construction which may last until late
July. It was established that there will always be one lane
open during construction (one way headed east from
SR 5 to town) to exit, head south or north or continue
east. API is working out details with local industry.
Construction could begin by early May. CenturyLink
is beginning their work the last week of April.
The Governor has declared May 2-6 as Municipal
Government Week in Indiana. Topeka is participating
with some interaction with Topeka Elementary School.
Students will be visiting various departments on May
5. The intent of the designated week is to acquaint
students as well as adults about the functions of various
departments.
