Warrior Basketball Posts Successful Season
The 2011 season of the Warrior
Youth Basketball league was a huge
success, as the league saw over 170
youth and 26 coaches participate.
Warrior Youth Basketball focuses on
teaching the fundamentals to first
through sixth grade girls and boys.
Games were played on Saturdays at
Meadowview Elementary School, with
a tournament for the fifth and sixth
grade girls and boys capping off the
season on December 17. While the
teams of Kurt Bachman, Atty. and
Eash Insulation won the tournaments,
all of the kids who participated in the
league were the real winners.

Westview School Board
Course Assessment tests have
ended for freshman students in math
and sophomore students in english.
The student’s success on these tests
is vital for high school graduation.
In the last three years, the scores for
Westview students have improved
every year. This may be because it is
shown that more students are taking
advanced placement classes. There are
also three new advanced placement
classes being offered to students for
next year. Two of these classes are go-
by Luke Pamer
ing to be taught by Paul Baker. They are
“Intro to Ag”, a tenth grade class, and
“Agribusiness”, an upperclassmen class
that is also a dual credit class through
Purdue University.
The high school is making a step
towards being more technologically advanced as well. Westview is making the
purchase of ninety laptops. There will
be three carts filled with thirty laptops
that can be wheeled around to different classes for use. Laptops are expen-
sive however, and the purchase will
cost the school upwards of $48,000.
In other news, Paul Johnston, the
junior high principal, has announced
his retirement at the end of this school
year. Tara Miller, who was in charge of
varsity girls tennis, junior high girls
soccer, and head of junior high student
council, has left for a full time job at
Northwood High School. If you have
interest in the athletic positions, contact Westview High School.
