The LaGrange County Library Board recently met and approved the decision to buy a new bookmobile. The current machine is the fifth to be in operation during the bookmobile’s 60 year history in LaGrange County. Making 81 stops within a threeweek rotation, the bookmobile checked out more than 77,000 books in 2011, which included over 50,000 children’s books. The library received a matching grant from the Dekko Foundation of up to $80,000 and has been working hard to raise the matching funds. The staff hopes for the continued support of the patrons to get more of the funds to offset the costs of the new bookmobile. The deadline for the grant has been extended to March 1. In addition to working with the schools, the library has also placed donation jars at all of the branches for all community members to help.
