In May Mr. Stump’s fifth-grade
class enjoyed a visit from Shawn
Carter, a basketball official who travels
and performs with the Harlem Globetrotters. His visit came about after
corresponding with Michael Beachey, a
student in Mr. Stump’s class, about his
experiences with the Globetrotters as
part of research for a writing project.
The students enjoyed a question and
answer session with Mr. Carter and
were treated to numerous stories about
his experiences.
