Topeka held its twentieth annual
all-school picnic on May 16. The
weather was perfect to enjoy hotdogs
outside on the lawn of the school.
After lunch, the students and their
guests were entertained by Mr. Les

from the Goshen area, presented
“Songs of the Pioneers” using a variety
of instruments.

Pie in the Face
Mrs. Kari Parker’s sixth grade class
at Westview Elementary recently had a
fundraiser to raise funds for the Kenny
Burkett Clinic in LaGrange. The Kenny
Burkett Clinic is a medical clinic in LaGrange that provides free health care
services to LaGrange County residents
who do not have health insurance.
Mrs. Parker’s class nominated
three teachers and for one week the
students at Westview Elementary
brought in money to vote for which
teacher they would like to see get a pie
in the face. Mrs. Parker got the most
votes and Alex Burr, a sixth grade
student brought in the biggest donation and therefore got to throw the pie.
The students were able to raise almost
$250 for the clinic. The clinic presently
