I never once finished a cross stitch project back in those days! I have in recent years finished quite a few so I finally learned how fulfilling it is to finish a project! Another thing that has failed miserably is when Shawn and I tried to do Goat Club. The first time around we had three dairy goat males. Those buggers chewed their way out of their enclosure and nibbled some newly planted trees down to the ground! We struggled to make them walk and we struggled to make them stand still for judging. When we got them to the fair, we showed them but they did not do well. The next year, Dad found us some pygmy goats. Those little guys were awfully cute and easier to handle... But don’t ya know, about a month before the fair, Shawn’s flopped over dead of unknown causes! Mine managed to stay healthy until we got to the fair but the day before judging, I was met at my goat’s pen by the fair vet. He told me that my goat had died during the night after having emergency surgery! I ended up showing someone else’s HUGE goat that I did not know how to show. Needless to say, my family was done with showing goats at 4-H after that.
