A Boy’s Wish Comes True By Abby Wenger Hometown Treasure Photos Left to right: Aaron, Joshua and Kara Yoder. Here are Aaron and his siblings in the limo at their home before they left for Indianapolis. A wish came true this past weekend, December 16-19, when 14 year old Aaron Yoder of Shipshewana was picked up in a limo and driven down to Indianapolis to meet Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts. Aaron’s wish came true through the Make a Wish Foundation. When asked how he came to be selected for the Make a Wish Foundation, he replied that the nurse from Westview Elementary, Ms. Lackey nominated him to the Foundation to make a wish. Aaron has Muscular Dystrophy and has to stay in his wheelchair. The family was contacted three months ago to start the whole process of having Aaron’s wish granted. Then, two weeks ago, Foundation volunteers came up to meet the family and by the next Tuesday, it was official, Aaron was going to meet Peyton Manning! On Friday Morning, Aaron, his brother Joshua, sister Kara and mother Becky were picked up at their house in a Limo provided by the Make a Wish Aaron holding some Colts memorabilia that he received on his visit. Here he is holding the signed yearbook, football, and gloves as well as a hat and plaque of Peyton Manning. Can You Bite Into An Apple? Stabilize Your Dentures Instantly!
