Westview High School teachers have selected six students to receive
“Student Ambassador of the Month” honors for December. Westview High
strives to promote students doing more than what was expected of them.
student. It was Theresa Felder, another
host mom, who finally talked her into
it. Paula and her family were a little
nervous at first, but that didn’t last
long. Yeonwoo fit right into their home
and they have all been enjoying their
time together immensely. Yeonwoo
is already saddened by the thought
of leaving in the spring. Often, in
Daejeon, she would arrive home from
school to an empty house while her
parents were still working and her
brother was not yet home from school.
At the Quick’s, she is greeted right
away by two rambunctious, playful
dogs before she can even greet the family. “It’s what I will miss the most,” she
said. For now, Yeonwoo is focusing on
her studies at school, all the extra exciting activities she gets to be involved
in, and trying to convince Paula’s family to try a popular Korean delicacy,
raw liver. So far she has made little
headway with her last goal, but she still
has another four to five months left to
convince them.
