WJHS Student Places Third At Gymnastics Invite By Jerry Hostetler Even with a fractured ankle, sustained during a soccer game, Westview eighth grader Karyssa Davis was able to place third at the Wawasee Classic Middle School Gymnastics Invitational in late February. This marked the third straight year that Davis garnered a third place finish. The Invitational was comprised of junior high gymnasts from Angola, Lakeland, Wawasee, West Noble and Westview. Davis placed third all-around with a score of 36.0. She placed third on vault with 9.6, fourth on bars with 8.1, fourth on beam with 9.1 and second on floor with 9.2. Westview eighth grader Emily Christner also participated (floor competition) in the invitational and according to coach Sherrie Davis, performed well, but didn’t place.
