Gymnastics Invite
By Jerry Hostetler
Even with a fractured ankle, sustained during a soccer game, Westview
eighth grader Karyssa Davis was able
to place third at the Wawasee Classic
Middle School Gymnastics Invitational
in late February. This marked the third
straight year that Davis garnered a
third place finish. The Invitational was
comprised of junior high gymnasts
from Angola, Lakeland, Wawasee, West
Noble and Westview.
Davis placed third all-around with
a score of 36.0. She placed third on
vault with 9.6, fourth on bars with 8.1,
fourth on beam with 9.1 and second on
floor with 9.2.
Westview eighth grader Emily Christner also participated (floor
competition) in the invitational and
according to coach
Sherrie Davis, performed well, but
didn’t place.
This is the
third year that
Davis and Christner have competed
representing Westview.
