Eighth grader Dan Gill, son of
Randy and Janice Gill of Shipshewana,
has been notified that he has qualified
to participate at the state level of the
National Geographic Bee in Indianapolis on April 5. After becoming the
school Bee winner at Westview JuniorSenior High School, Gill took a qualifying test where he scored among the top
100 students in the state. He will be
competing against students in grades
four through eight at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. One winner from each state and
territory will advance to the national
competition which will be held May 2022 in Washington, D.C. The national
competition will be moderated by
Alex Trebek, the host of the nationally
famous game show, Jeopardy.
