The activities during this period are pretty slim. The employees are to be commended for doing a good job plowing snow and keeping the streets safe and clean during these winter months. The 700 South project is moving very slowly. As far as other projects, we shot at nothing and hit it. We are pleased to see industrial activities picking up. Keep in mind that employees who provide quality and efficient labor share the rewards with jobs, paychecks, etc. Recently Katie Braid (clerk’s office) completed a 1 week clerk’s school at Ball State University sponsored by ILMCT and now has sufficient credit hours to qualify for her CMC. Congratulations to Katie for this achievement, a I Buy Houses Page 25 $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ CA$H! $ Quick Sale - Fair Price $ $ $ 260-768-3100 $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ reward for her dedication and efforts. Katie also recently completed re-doing the Town of Topeka website. The Clerk’s office can now post announcements on the community bulletin board for coming events. The website is Topekain.net. See Katie, she can help with your announcements. At the March 14 Town Council meeting Ron Eash was appointed Town Manager, the spot recently vacated by Larry Schrock. Ron has been the Street Superintendant for a number of years and will continue at street work until a street employee is hired. The town will be accepting applications for street employee until April 11, 2011. Applications can be picked up at the Clerk’s office, 124 East Lake St. My closing story: The cat and fox were talking politics one day. The fox remarked “I have a number of tricks if I should get invaded.” The cat said “ I have but one trick but it works.” “You poor thing ... to only have one trick, perhaps I should share one of my many tricks with you”, the fox replied. Before the fox had finished speaking along came a pack of hound dogs. The cat took one leap into the tree out of reach. The fox, who had not been able to get out of sight, overtaken by his many tricks, was torn into many pieces by the hound dogs who surrounded him. “Successful cunning often makes a make believe show to wisdom.” Phone: 260-463-4901 • Fax 888-439-6528 • The Hometown Treasure 7 Blood Pres./Glucose........ 8 - 9 Coffee/Rolls.................... 8 - 10 Wii Bowling............................ 9 14 Blood Pres./Glucose........ 8 - 9 Coffee/Rolls.................... 8 - 10 Bingo...................................... 9 21 Blood Pres./Glucose........ 8 - 9 Coffee/Rolls.................... 8 - 10 Volunteer Recognition Luncheon..................... 11:30
