This year, Mayfest will be held on May 6 and 7 and will include the big tent again. Some shows for you to look forward to include John Dudley’s comedy magic show, various musicians, Rozz puppets, and the music program students from Westview. Also be looking for some of the same activities that have become favorites at Mayfest such as the buggy races, 3-on-3 basketball tournaments, the pony pull, the garden tractor pull, road and trail/fun run, and the Mayfest parade. Her hobbies include reading, music, softball and soccer. Chyanna enjoys spending lots of time with her friends! In February 2011, Arianna was diagnosed with b-cell non-hodgkins lymphoma. She is currently in 5th grade at Lima-Brighton Elementary School. Her favorite activities include reading, crafts, and basketball. She is also currently involved in piano, Geography Club, FAN Club, and Math Pentathalon. Chyanna and Arianna are currently undergoing chemo treatments. To pick up an entry form, stop by Yoder’s Shipshewana Hardware in the Yoder Shopping Center or visit www.runshipshewana.com April 2011 Sixth Annual Mayfest Road And Trail Run On Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 8:00am, Shipshewana will host the sixth annual Mayfest Road & Trail 4 mile run as part of if its annual Mayfest celebration. A 1-mile non-competitive walk and a 1-mile fun-run for kids ages 13 and under will also be held in conjunction with the road and trail race. Participants of all ages are welcome. This year, there will be a chip timing system for the first time since the race started. This will help to improve the overall race day experience in many aspects including timing accuracy and timeliness of posting results. Cost is $20 day of race or $17 pre-race registration for the 4-mile run and $10 day of race or pre-race for the 1-mile walk and 1-mile kid’s fun run. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Bret and Vickie Smith Family of Howe, Indiana. Bret and Vickie have three daughters: Chyanna (age 14) and twins Arianna and Kiara (age 11). In August 2010, Chyanna was diagnosed with t-cell non-hodgkins lymphoma. She is an 8th grader at Lakeland Middle School and is currently homeschooling, hoping to return to Lakeland next
