For example, once while teaching a faith seminar in Phoenix, Arizona, I discerned an evil spirit in a fellow sitting near the front of the church. I knew he had a wrong spirit and would disrupt the service if given an opportunity. I tried to keep from pausing in my sermon long enough to give him a chance to break in. However, at the conclusion of the message he leapt to his feet, threw up his hands, and started telling the congregation everything he thought was wrong with them. This fellow did everything except what the scriptural use of the gift of prophecy should do. Instead of edifying the people, he tore them down. Instead of exhorting or calling them nearer to God, he drove the
