The 2018 Challenge Cup was played at Weaver Ridge Golf Club in Peoria, Illinois. The IJGA Team took the lead on the first day, earning 4.5 points to the Prep Tour Team’s 3.5 points. The first day consisted of eight partner matches, the first six holes were best ball, the next six holes were alternate shot and the final six holes were a scramble. The final day consisted of 16 singles matches. Two matches ended all-square, while the IJGA team won only three matches, before ultimately being defeated by the Prep Tour Team who earned a total of 15.5 points to the IJGA Team’s 8.5 points. The Challenge Cup is a match play event, which puts the IJGA against the Prep Tour. The event, which began in 2015, brings together some of the top junior golfers in the state of Illinois to compete for the Challenge Cup.
