NEW IN 2018 FOR YDP NEW FOR YDP IN 2018 There are three (3) highlights to watch for within the Youth Development Program this year. The first is the introduction of Ben’s Blurb, a bi-weekly email from Ben Suchomski, manager of YDP. It will include information such as pace of play tips, spectator reminders, rules reminders and more. We encourage you to share these emails with your junior golfer. The next change applies to the Boys and Girls 10-11 Divisions. This year, these divisions have the opportunity to earn Player of the Year Points, which will determine who is invited to the YDP Player of the Year Championship. The other requirement for qualifying for Player of the Year is the player must have played in at least three (3) point awarding events. Starting this year, the YDP POY Championship will be a 2-day, 36-hole event for both the 10-11 and 12-13 Divisions. The biggest change occurs in the Boys and Girls 8-9 Divisions. These players now have the option to play 9 holes at any of the YDP 18 Hole Events. We recognize that many 8-9 year olds are not ready for 18 hole events. This allows the 8-9 Divisions the opportunity to play full-sized regulation courses, but they have the option to play only 9 holes at these events, increasing their overall playing opportunities. Chaperones are still required for the 8-9 Divisions. More information about our Chaperone Policy can be found on our website. 14 Illinois Junior Golf Association
