The Illinois Junior Golf Association’ s Fall Jr Elite Event # 3 @ Winnetka GC concluded after two days of competitive golf. In the Boys 12-15 Division, Eli Myers( 2023) of Northbrook, Ill., took top honors, while in the Girls 12-15 Division, Renata Petersen( 2021) of Village of Lakewood, Ill., found herself atop the leaderboard. In the Boys 10-11 Division, Jack Mulligan( 2024) of Burr Ridge, Ill., took champion honors after winning a sudden death playoff and the champion in the Girls 10-11 Division was Audrey Wake( 2025) of Hinsdale, Ill.
The Fall Jr Elite Event # 3 @ Winnetka GC was a two-day, 36-hole, stroke play competition contested October 21-22, 2017, at Winnetka Golf Course. The field was made up of 51 junior golfers ages 10-15 from Illinois. The Boys 12- 15 Division played the course as a par 71 from 6,065 yards, the Girls 12-15 Division and the Boys 10-11 Division played the course as a par 73 from 5,343 yards, while the Girls 10-11 Division played the course as a par 72 from 4,864 yards. All the the golfers battled through the elements with a very cold and windy second round.
Myers carded a 9-over-par 151 tournament total, which included rounds of 5-over-par 76 and 4-over-par 75. This was Myer’ s fourth IJGA win during the 2017 season, his most notable being a first place finish at the YDP Player of the Year Championship at Randall Oaks in August.
Coming in runner-up in the
Boys 12-15 Division was Charlie Creamean( 2021) of Winnetka,
Ill., who carded a 10-over-par 152 tournament total. Finishing third was Peter Crowe( 2022) of Lake Forest, Ill., who carded a two-day total of 13-over-par 155. In fourth place was Danny Keating( 2021) of Libertyville, Ill., with a tournament total of 15-over-par 157. Rounding out the top five was John Wild( 2022) of Glen Ellyn, Ill., who carded an 18-over-par 160 tournament total.
In the Boys 10-11 Division, Mulligan defeated Noah Zyung( 2024) of Glenview, Ill., in a sudden death playoff after both boys finished the twoday event with an 18-over-par 164 tournament total. This marks Mulligan’ s third Jr Elite Event victory during the 2017 season.
In the Girls 12-15 Division, Peterson carded a two-day total of 32-over-par 178 to take home her first IJGA victory. Coming in runner-up was Elsa Vieregg( 2021) of Northbrook, Ill., who carded a 53-over-par 199 tournament total.
In the Girls 10-11 Division, Wake carded a tournament total of 55-over-par 199 to take home her first IJGA victory. Coming in runnerup was Amelia Tan( 2025) of Hinsdale, Ill., who carded a 63-over-par 207 tournament total.
